A patient with CKD5D receiving hemodialysis treated with denosumab
How do we safely use denosumab for our patients on dialysis? Join the case discussion of the next EUROD e-seminar on 18th of March!
The clinical case will be presented by Maria Jesus Lloret and Juan-Miguel Diaz-Tocados from Spain, and discussed with prof. Marie-Helene Lafage-Proust from France and Prof. Bente Langdahl from Denmark, with Dr. Syazrah Salam from the United Kingdom as moderator.
Case description: Denosumab is a potent antiresorptive agent with no kidney clearance. It is considered the first-line therapy for osteoporosis in end-stage kidney disease; however, hypocalcemia is a common side effect that requires careful management. This e-seminar discusses the complexities of calcium management in a patient receiving hemodialysis treated with denosumab, providing insights into best practices and clinical strategies.
