The clinical case was presented by assistant professor Ana Carina Ferreira from Lisbon, Portugal and discussed with Dr. Ditte Hansen (Denmark), Dr. Ricardo Neto (Portugal) and Prof. Sandro Mazzaferro (Italy).

Brief description: Disturbances in mineral metabolism are ubiquitous in renal failure and nephrologists are often called upon to assist in assessing such cases, even outside the context of CKD. The next Case Conference of the European Renal Osteodystrophy (EUROD) initiative will discuss hypophosphatemia's diagnostic challenges and consequences.
